FIREFIGHTER is made from 100% fire resistant Aramid, contains NOMEX® branded fibres from Du Pont® and complies with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The thread is designed not only to resist ignition, but also to prevent flames from spreading, as well as to self-extinguish once the source of the fire is removed.
‘Flame resistant’ describes a material inherently resistant to catching fire when exposed to a flame; it does not melt or drip and will self-extinguish without the heat source, therefore preventing fire from spreading. In contrast a ‘flame retardant’ (see POLYNEON FR) thread refers to a material that has been chemically treated to self-extinguish. Please always make sure to select the right thread according to your customer’s requirements and the applicable laws and regulations.
FIREFIGHTER
FIREFIGHTER products are flame and heat resistant embroidery threads indispensable to motor sport clothing, workwear and all kinds of protective clothing. In environments where there is a risk of garment ignition employers must ensure that their workforce is adequately protected by providing flame resistant clothing. FIREFIGHTER is also suitable for embroidering aeroplane seat cushions and for many other applications where fire resistant properties are necessary. When heat protection is required, it is important to have a complete set of fire resistant supplies, from top thread and bobbin thread to backing and scissors capable of cutting Aramid fibres.

POLYNEON FR
POLYNEON FR – is Madeira’s innovative flame retardant polyester thread. Unlike threads treated post spinning, the special chemical compound added during the spinning process ensures the protective finish will not disappear through wear or washing. Polyneon FR is the solution to meet fire regulations for textiles in home and public décor, automotive and hotels etc. Available in 34 colours including 4 fluorescent shades.
